What the name change means for an existing Windsurf installation.

A new name for the existing editor

Cognition identifies Devin Desktop as the new name for Windsurf. The product adds an agent management surface while keeping a full editor available. The official migration FAQ says the update carries over extensions, settings and existing work.

Check your existing plan before comparing new prices

The migration FAQ says existing plans and pricing carry over, including legacy enterprise arrangements. New public subscription prices are not necessarily a description of your existing contract. Check your account rather than assuming the new website changes your bill.

A practical migration check

Before updating, save your work and note the extensions and integrations you rely on. After the update, open a familiar project, run its usual checks and confirm authentication for each agent you use.
