刘小排 Overview
Liu Xiaopai (刘小排) is a Chinese AI-product founder known for applying coding agents to commercial software development.[1] He spent ten years as a product director at Cheetah Mobile and left on December 31, 2024, to build his own business.[1] In a September 2025 interview, he described a self-funded company with approximately six or seven people, rather than a permanently solo operation.[1] His career also includes independent projects developed before leaving employment; he identifies as both a product manager and a programmer.[1]
What 刘小排 Built
Raphael AI is an AI image generator and editor with a browser-based basic mode, optional accounts, and paid access to faster or more advanced generation.[2] Liu's own profile identifies him as Raphael AI's founder.[3]

How 刘小排 Builds
Liu said
Cursor had been his main coding environment before he began shifting toward
Claude Code in May 2025; he had also tried
Augment Code.[1] In a June 2025 article, he described using Cursor and Claude Code together and running several agent sessions, while warning beginners about simultaneous edits to the same files.[10]
His use of coding agents extends into research and model engineering.[1] For Fast3D, he described asking Claude Code to provision rented GPUs, deploy candidate open models, run benchmark datasets and help evaluate algorithmic improvements.[1] He also publicly described developing a small real-time salary calculator with
TRAE during a product demonstration in March 2025.[3]
In June 2026, he described giving
Codex CLI long-running tasks with explicit acceptance criteria and repeated automated evaluation.[11] Ralph Desktop turns a related idea into a graphical workflow: an agent helps clarify an initial request, iterates toward completion, and can be paused or resumed.[6]
Business Model
The portfolio mixes free acquisition with paid upgrades.[2][4] Raphael AI provides basic guest generation alongside paid priority features, while AnyVoice offers a free tier and a subscription with commercial usage rights.[2][4] Fast3D originally emphasized free and login-free generation, although its site also links to a pricing section.[5]
Liu has said that some of his commercially important products remain unnamed because he does not want them copied.[1] A March 2025 interview reproduced approximate portfolio income statements and daily product ranges, but not exact monthly product-level amounts suitable for verified revenue rows here.[12] Therefore, no structured revenue figures are attributed to individual products.[12]
Timeline
- Left Cheetah Mobile after ten years and moved into full-time entrepreneurship.[1]
- Publicly discussed Raphael AI and announced the SCAI Lab initiative.[3]
- Began using Claude Code and progressively made it central to development.[1]
- Launched Fast3D version 1.0.[5]
- Discussed his small-team, bootstrapped operating model and expanded agent workflows in a detailed interview.[1]
- Published an early Ralph Desktop release.[7]
- Shared an acceptance-criteria-driven Codex workflow for long-running tasks.[11]
Lessons
His earlier product-development advice also stresses identifying underserved demand, showing an MVP to prospective users, measuring behavior, and abandoning ideas when validation fails.[12] The Fast3D case illustrates a complementary principle: use agents to automate reproducible experiments, but retain human judgment when choosing and refining the underlying approach.[1]
