AI Search Visibility
Created by Adam Tanguay
Check how your product appears in AI answers and search results for buyer questions.
Our developer take
Monitoring product discoverability
Pick five questions a developer would ask when evaluating your category. Keep the questions consistent across runs and inspect which competing products receive mentions. Use the evidence to improve one missing documentation or comparison page.
A practical first workflow
How to use AI Search Visibility
Record how your product appears for five fixed buyer questions.
An AI IDE List walkthrough based on the linked template. These are suggested tasks and review criteria, not results from a hands-on test.
First, add this Bot
Open the official AI Search Visibility template, choose Import Bot, and finish adding it in the Grok Bot app. Open its conversation, then follow the workflow below. If you have not set up the app, follow our installation and connection guide.
What to prepare
- Your product name, domain, category, and comparison brands.
- Five exact buyer questions to reuse across checks.
- Accessible answer sources, or pasted answers from services that need your login.
Freeze a prompt set
Choose questions a prospective customer would actually ask. Keep their wording stable so later observations are comparable.
Collect observable answers
Ask the Bot to inspect accessible sources. For a login-only service, provide the answer text with the service name and capture date.
Classify each appearance
Request a row for every question and source: recommended, cited, mentioned, or absent. Keep source links and observation dates.
Choose one content improvement
Look for an answer gap your site can address. If you enable a weekly check, reuse the prompt set and label changes in source availability.
First-run example
Replace every [BRACKETED_VALUE] with your details, attach the required files, then send this in the Bot's conversation.
Track [PRODUCT_NAME] at [DOMAIN] against [COMPARISON_BRANDS]. Use these exact buyer questions: [FIVE_QUESTIONS]. Sources or pasted answers: [SOURCE_LIST_OR_ANSWER_TEXT_WITH_DATES]. Create a baseline table with question, source, date, appearance type (recommended, cited, mentioned, or absent), and supporting link or excerpt. Mark unobserved sources unavailable. Recommend one evidence-backed page improvement. Keep this prompt set unchanged for future comparisons.
What you should get
Use this checklist to review the first result and request anything missing.
- A dated baseline for each observed question/source pair.
- Evidence for classifications and explicit source-coverage gaps.
- One proposed improvement tied to an observed answer gap.
For the next run
Opt into a weekly brief or spot check using the same questions. Treat each answer as an observation, since generated answers can vary.
If the first run gets stuck
If an answer service needs login, paste the answer with its context and date. An unavailable source should not be classified as a confirmed absence.

What to consider
Visibility is a snapshot of the tested prompts and surfaces. It is not a comprehensive ranking of all AI answers.
