Competitor Watch

Created by Shimecki

Watch public competitor pages and turn meaningful changes into a concise brief.

Our developer take

Following competing SaaS products

Give it the pricing and changelog pages of three close alternatives to your product. Set a material-change threshold so that a new plan limit deserves attention while a punctuation edit does not. Use the brief during product planning.

A practical first workflow

How to use Competitor Watch

Create a dated baseline for two competitors' public pricing pages.

An AI IDE List walkthrough based on the linked template. These are suggested tasks and review criteria, not results from a hands-on test.

First, add this Bot

Open the official Competitor Watch template, choose Import Bot, and finish adding it in the Grok Bot app. Open its conversation, then follow the workflow below. If you have not set up the app, follow our installation and connection guide.

What to prepare

  • Two or three competitor names with exact public URLs to monitor.
  • Fields that matter, such as plan price, usage limits, or launch announcements.
  • A reporting timezone and cadence if you want recurring checks.
  1. Create the watchlist

Share exact pricing, product, changelog, or hiring URLs. Explain which changes could affect your product decisions.

  2. Capture the first baseline

Request dated observations for the chosen fields. Treat the first pass as the baseline, with no claimed changes yet.

  3. Compare a later check

Ask for old versus new values, URLs, and capture dates. Separate observed changes from possible business implications.

  4. Enable a useful cadence

Choose a weekly brief or daily launch check and confirm the timezone. The listing's routines stay disabled until you enable them.

First-run example

Replace every [BRACKETED_VALUE] with your details, attach the required files, then send this in the Bot's conversation.

Create a competitor watchlist for [COMPETITOR_A_URL] and [COMPETITOR_B_URL]. Track the entry-plan price, included usage, and upgrade limits on their public pricing pages. Capture a dated baseline with exact source URLs. This is the first run, so do not describe differences without an earlier snapshot. On later checks, show old value, new value, evidence, and a separate implication for [MY_PRODUCT]. Ask before enabling a weekly brief on [DAY_AND_TIME] in [TIMEZONE].

What you should get

Use this checklist to review the first result and request anything missing.

  • A watchlist and dated baseline for each monitored field.
  • On subsequent runs, source-backed old/new comparisons.
  • A concise brief separating observations from interpretation.

For the next run

Keep the same URLs and fields for comparable updates. Add a new baseline when you change the scope.

If the first run gets stuck

If a page requires login or blocks access, substitute a public page or mark it unavailable. This template's documented scope is public sources.

What the template includes
